The Department of Data Science, under the WOW Club, organized a seminar on “Cyber Safety Importance in the Digital Age” on 25th January 2025 in Room No. 310, from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM. It was conducted exclusively for I, II, and III-year CSE-DS girl students.
The seminar featured Mrs. Polisetty Subhashini, Advocate at the High Court of Andhra Pradesh and Legal Counselor, who gave a powerful talk on online safety, scams, cyberbullying, and privacy.
Dr. Sarvana Kumar, Principal, and Dr. Akbar, HOD of Data Science, appreciated the initiative. The presence of the college president, vice-president, secretary, and other dignitaries gave the event great importance.
The event was coordinated by Ms. V. Navya Sree and supported by all faculty. Students were enthusiastic, asking questions and engaging with the guest speaker, making the seminar highly interactive.
Outcomes
The workshop instilled a strong sense of cyber responsibility among the students. Key takeaways included awareness of data protection, cyber law basics, encryption, and identifying malicious digital behavior. The session laid a foundation for promoting long-term cybersecurity awareness and safe digital practices within the student community.
